Double-Header - 'Amp up Your Career' followed by 'Starting Your Own Business'

Joe Walling will be presenting a double-header of topics related to some common goals for developers. The first presentation is called ‘Amp up Your Career’ and the second is ‘Starting Your Own Business’.

Are you happy with your job? Are you happy with your prospect for advancement in your current company? If you answered no to either of these questions, then the ‘Amp up Your Career’ presentation is definitely for you. Even if you answered ‘yes’ to both questions you still might want to come and see how you can become even more invaluable to your employer so that you can keep that great job.

Have you ever wanted to start your own business either creating and selling a software product or doing custom software development? Have you hesitated because you weren’t sure how to get started? Or have you tried it before and found that you weren’t as successful as you needed to be for the business to be viable? If you are even considering starting your own business, you should attend this presentation to get some ideas on how to be successful without taking a huge risk. We will discuss some considerations to think about before quitting your current job and going into business for yourself. Then we will delve into some steps for starting the business while minimizing your risk while still meeting your goal of a profitable, meaningful business.

Here are the slides from this presentation:
